HRIA moves convention

Australia’s Hire and Rental Industry Association has moved the venue for next year’s convention and Hire 17 exhibition, from Cairns to Sydney.

The event will return to the Australian Technology Park in central Sydney, the dates remain the same – 10th and 11th May.

The association said: “The decision to relocate the convention was made for a number of reasons. chief among these was to ensure accessibility for both our rental company members and our supplier members. When we were researching new venues the fact the NSW economy is performing well was a major draw card and it will be four years since our last Sydney Convention in 2013. This decision was not made lightly and reflects the genuine interest and feedback received from our industry members.”

This will be a popular decision, the Sydney location worked well in 2013 and there was concern about the distance and costs of shipping exhibits to Cairns, as well as the longer less frequent flights to Cairns, at a time when the country as a whole is experiencing a tough economic period.
