Another tree trimmer fatality

A man trimming trees from a bucket truck in Troutville, Virginia was catapulted out of the platform to his death yesterday.

The man was part of a crew that was working on a tree that had been damaged by a lightning strike earlier on the week, when according to the report from the Botetourt County Sherriff, he fell around nine metres to the ground and was then hit by a falling limbs/logs.

The emergency services were called but the man was dead before they arrived. Troutville is close to Interstate 81 north of Roanoke.
