More big booms for Goscor

South Africa’s Goscor Access Rentals has placed a substantial order with Genie for boom and scissor lifts.

The order placed last month includes one 180ft SX-180 and two 150ft SX-150 straight telescopics, along with two 135ft ZX-135 articulated boom lifts. In addition to the five large boom lifts it is taking a wide range of smaller booms and scissor lifts. The entire order is expected to ship to South Africa over the next three months to join the company’s rental fleet, which already includes the SX180, with the first having arrived in late 2014, and two SX150s which joined the fleet last year.

The Genie SX180

Managing director George Landsberg said: “While the Southern African economy is not great at present, demand for rental machines continues and the expansion of our fleet part of our plans to expand Goscor Access Rental’s national footprint. We expect to place further orders by the end of September this year.”

The Goscor group has recently undergone some shareholder changes and the current growth plans are supported and encouraged by the new shareholders.”
