Bucket truck collapse

A man was rushed to hospital in critical condition yesterday after the boom of the bucket truck he was working from is said to have ‘snapped’ in the town of Dunn, Wisconsin.

The man,50, was trimming trees in the town – which is due west of Milwaukee - at a height of around 20 metres, when the boom came away from its base and fell to the ground. It then came down onto some overhead power lines cutting the supply to local homes. As far as we know the man did not suffer an electric shock as he fell.
