20 orders for Liebherr LR1500

Liebherr says that it has already sold 20 units of its new 500 tonne LR1500 crawler crane, since its launch at Bauma in April.

The prototype of the new crane was unveiled at its open days at its Ehingen plant in June 2015. See new 500 tonne Liebherr Crawler The first machines will be delivered later this summer. Buyers so far include Hovago and Mammoet from the Netherlands, which have ordered up to five units each, US based Amquip which is taking four, and Beutelhauser of Germany.

Liebherr celebrate an LR 1500 deal with Hovago at Bauma


The company claims that the crane has the load charts of a 500-tonne crawler crane, whilst having the dimensions and component weights of a 400 tonne crawler crane, such as the LR 1400/2 which it replaces. It can be transported worldwide without restrictions, with a minimum transport weight of 45 tonnes.

Mammoet confirms a multiple order for the LR 1500


Capacities have on average increased 28 percent over the LR1400 on the 84 metre main boom. And 55 percent when comparing the 84 metre main boom plus 84 metre luffing jib.
