New Barin for Vietnam

Italian underbridge inspection platform manufacturer Barin has delivered a new AB16/S bucket type underbridge inspection unit to the municipality of Da Nang in Vietnam.

The AB16/S can reach up to 16 metres under a bridge

The platform has an above ground working height of 18.4 metres, can reach up to 21.6 metres below ground, and has up to 16 metres of horizontal underbridge reach with a platform capacity of 250kg. It is also able to clear bridge barriers of up to 3.9 metres high and reach over pedestrian walkways of up to 3.8 metres wide. Mounted on a Volvo FM370 HP 6.2 truck, it has an overall width of 2.5 metres and only occupies a single traffic lane while working.

The new machine will be used to inspect and maintain the infamous Dragon Bridge over the river Hàn. It will also be used on the nearby Thuận Phước bridge.
