Steve Corcoran departure confirmed

Steve Corcoran, the ex chief executive of Speedy Hire and founder and chief executive of Ardent Hire Solutions has stepped down but will remain as a special advisor

The news comes several days after the first news of his departure surfaced, he was still listed as a director of Ardent though, although the Ardent Hire website listed him as special advisor, rather than chief executive. Ardent has now issued a statement confirming the news, however no details of why he has stepped down have been released.

Ardent Hire Solutions was formed out of the joint acquisitions of One Call and Fork Rent by private equity firms Searchlight Capital Partners Duke Street last summer. The two were merged at the start of the year, under the new name Ardent. See Ardent the new name for Fork Rent and One Call

In February construction industry executive Greg Fitzgerald was appointed chairman of the new business, which has been expanding fast and is now arguably the UK’s largest telehandler rental company.

A statement from the company said: “The board of Ardent Hire Solutions announces that following the integration of One Call and Fork Rent, Steve Corcoran has stepped-down as chief executive. It was Steve’s vision to bring together One Call and Fork Rent and it was his tenacity that has led to the formation of the company. The board would like to thank him for all his efforts and wishes him well in the future. We are also delighted that he will remain with the business as a shareholder and in the capacity of special advisor and look forward to drawing on his vast experience in the sector.”

A search for his successor has begun.
