Third GSR for RKP

UK truck mounted rental company RKP has taken delivery of its third 22 metre GSR E228TJ straight telescopic truck mounted lift.

The company acquired its first unit second hand in 2011 from rental company J.V.Price, added a second in 2014 and now a third. All three are mounted on 7.5 tonne Iveco chassis and feature three section telescopic booms, topped by a jib with 135 degrees of articulation. This provides up 17.5 metres of outreach, and a 280kg platform capacity with inboard jacking.

RKP now has three GSR228TJ truck mounted lifts

Paul Hunwick of RKP said: After buying our first one in 2011, they have proven to be a good investment over the years. We added a second one in 2014 and have taken a third unit into the fleet. They very popular with our customers on a self-drive basis.

The company was established in late 2011 in Birtley, County Durham and runs truck and van mounted lifts to 38 metres, along with a small underbridge unit and a few spider lift.

Referring to the comment below, I had to look up Taniwhas, thought it was a spelling mistake at first. I think it means a large mythical shark like beast and I guess is being used as a metaphor for the big national companies. If so the comment doesn’t hold water as only a few days ago Nationwide announced an order for 43 GSR’s including the same model as above.

I still think its great that the smaller Independents around the country are still pushing the Industry forward. The right equipment can offer the best financial returns, whilst leaving the Taniwhas to chase the rate sensitive stuff, high risk, low return work.
