Crane stops trains

An All Terrain left the road between Attadale and Stormferry in north west Scotland yesterday teetering over a rail track, causing the train service to be suspended.

The crane a two axle 30 tonne PPM owned by AGS Steel Erectors had apparently travelled down a steep hill before running off the edge of the road. Two cars bumped into each other, after one of them took avoiding action to get out of the way of the crane. No one was injured in the incident. The local police said that the driver reported a problem with the crane’s brakes. Although we have no separate confirmation of that. AGS runs three cranes – two 30 and one 50 tonner.
