Since its launch, Liebherr has frequently updated the machine by making minor improvements. It celebrated the sale of its 200th unit in 2008, 300th in 2010, and 400th in 2013 making it according to Liebherr the most successful telescopic crane in its class.

The new crane replaces a 14 year-old unit in the Riga fleet and the company will take delivery of a second LTM in June. It has a number of jobs already lined up including extensive chemical industry work.

Riga managing director, Uwe Langer, said: “Reliability plays an important role in our final purchase decision. When you have seen the test loads during the crane acceptance procedure in Ehingen with your own eyes, you know that Liebherr has included plenty of capacity reserves for safety. That gives you a calm feeling and lots of confidence in the giant machine if you are driving it every day to challenging jobs.”
