New Grove for Telekrane

Austrian crane rental company Telekrane Engl has taken delivery of a new 60 tonne Grove GMK3060 All Terrain crane.

The three-axle GMK3060 has a 43 metre six section main boom and a 8.7 to 15 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. Other features include Grove’s new Crane Control System (CCS) which is directly linked to Manitowoc Crane Care service software and the boom configuration mode which automatically selects the optimal boom configuration for a lift once the operator has entered the basic parameters.

The crane went straight to work lifting concrete panels at a construction project using its standard jib while operating in a two-hook configuration to lift, tilt and position the panels.

Wolfgang Engl, director of Telekrane, said: “The GMK3060 brings huge advantages as we mostly operate in confined spaces or in high alpine terrain, so we needed a compact crane that offered good load charts and excellent off-road manoeuvrability. Manitowoc’s close proximity and outstanding support to its customers in Austria was also an important factor in our decision.”

Crane operator, Daniel Stuefer, added: “The new Crane Control System is one of the most user-friendly systems I've operated and makes life so much easier on the job site. With the new crane, I’m able to drive to sites which we previously had difficulty accessing, plus, its controls are easy and comfortable to use.”
