First new crane for WaveTrade

UK crane rental and marine repair company WaveTrade has taken delivery of a new 60 tonne three axle Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1, the company’s first new crane.

The LTM 1060-3.1 features a 48 five section main boom and has been ordered with the 2.5 metre 18 tonne heavy duty swingaway extension, with up 10 degrees offset, and VarioBase outrigger set up system. The crane has All wheel steer and can travel in the UK with all 12.8 tonnes of counterweight on board.

WaveTrade's first new crane, a 60 tonne three axle Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1

The company expects to take delivery of it second new crane, a three axle 45 tonne Liebherr LTC 1045-3.1 city type All Terrain crane next month.

Dave Saunders of WaveTrade, said: “Having purchased the company’s first mobile crane back in 1989 to launch yachts we build, by the mid-1990s we were running eight elderly mobile cranes, purchased second hand. But as we attract increasingly complex and geographically far-flung work in this internet age, we need to run much newer and more reliable machines in order to stay competitive. To enable us to handle work at customer sites with tight access, we have chosen the LTM 1060-3.1 crane with its long boom and a new LTC 1045-3.1 compact crane, which we are looking forward to taking delivery of.”
