Green Stickers for foundation cranes

The Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) has formed a partnership with the Piling and Foundation Specialists Federation (PFSF) to administer the newly created PileSafe green sticker for piling and foundation equipment.

The motivation for the inspection programme is to raise the standard of piling equipment maintenance, make it more transparent and improve safety as a result.

The PileSafe green sticker programme will work in the same way for piling equipment as the CraneSafe green sticker currently works for crane owners all over Australia. As major pieces of equipment, piling rigs should undergo an independent inspection every 12 months.

Piling rigs will now have their own version of CICA's Green Sticker inspection programme

The CraneSafe green sticker has raised standards and is now accepted throughout the construction industry, with most major construction companies making it a mandatory requirement for cranes working on their sites. The PileSafe green sticker kicked off on Tuesday, and it is anticipated that the construction industry will quickly adopt the inspection programme as the standard for piling equipment.

The programme covers driven piling rigs, drill rigs, sheetpile rigs, ground improvement and small and bore drill rigs (anchor style rigs). Both CraneSafe and PileSafe are now fully electronic, with the inspection booklets replaced by an electronic checklist that offers advantages over the paper system.
