Fatal bucket truck impact

A man died in Delaware yesterday after a truck collided with his aerial lift south west of Wilmington on Interstate 95.

The collision occurred before 7:00 am and details remain scarce, paramedics report that they found the man, said to be in his 20s, lying in the road having been ejected from the bucket truck. No mention was made of what type of truck hit him, or what he was doing. Given the location of the platform, it is possible that he had only just entered the platform when the impact occurred. .

The damaged aerial lift

In a photograph that we have received, the lift appears to be some distance from an overhead gantry or anything else that it might have been working on. Either the platform, owned by Nesco utility Rentals, was pushed some distance from where it had been set up, or this was more of a road accident?

The platform has clearly suffered some serious damage. Them man was treated at the scene but died a shortly afterwards.
