CMC to launch hybrid spider

Italian aerial lift manufacturer CMC will launch a new 25 metre lithium battery powered version of its 25S at the Rental show in Atlanta later this month.

The new power pack will operate at the same speeds as the all diesel model and run under these conditions for around eight hours, before needing to recharge. A warning then sounds telling the operator to either recharge or start up the Kubota diesel engine, which will also top up the batteries.

The new battery pack gives the machine the freedom to work indoors at the same speed as with diesel and without the need for trailing cables

The S25 Hybrid offers the same performance as the regular model, including almost 14 metres of outreach, 230kg platform capacity The twin telescopic boomed machine – with two section telescopic riser and three section top boom, also offers a clear up and over reach of around 10 metres at which it still offers 10 metres of outreach. Additionally the unit can reach around six metres below ground level

Overall width is under 900mm, has an overall length with platform removed of 5.8 metres and a total weight of 3,900kg,
