Kevin Parkes takes over at Finning UK

Ex Hewden chief executive Kevin Parkes will take over as managing director of Finning UK/Ireland at the start of next month.

He replaces Neil Dickinson who is due to retire after 36 years with the company. He will however assist Parkes for transitionary period and remain with the company in an advisory capacity until the end of March. Parkes will report to Finning's chief executive Scott Thomson.

Parkes originally joined Finning as a graduate trainee in 1996 and held a variety of roles in the equipment solutions division culminating at general manager. He moved to the Hewden rental subsidiary in 2008 as head of a new regional structure, becoming chief executive of Hewden in 2010 when the company sold the business to Sun European Partners. He resigned from the company at the end of 2014, re-joining Finning last year as director, equipment solutions.

Dickinson added: "I believe this is the right time for me to retire from Finning and for Kevin to assume his place as the leader of the UK and Ireland operations. I'm confident that under Kevin's leadership, the Finning UK and Ireland business will continue to drive business results and exceed customer expectations".
