Patrick Van Seumeren 1968 -2015

We have received the sad news that former chief operating officer of Mammoet – Patrick Van Seumeren has died.

We understand that he passed away this morning after a battle with cancer. Patrick was the son of Henneke van Seumeren, one of Jan van Seumeren’s four children, which also included Frans, Jan Jr and Roderik.

When Frans appointed him as chief executive he described Patrick as “a commercial wizard, able to combine the technical with sales, making him a cornerstone of the business”.

Patrick quit Mammoet along with his cousins and uncle in 2011. After the sale started a cattle ranch with friends in Paraguay. He at the same time he began building a new home in Verbier Switzerland.

More recently he founded a charity for cancer sufferers - 'Stichting Weg Met Kanker' - Out with Cancer - Or Away with cancer - which among other things supported those suffering from the disease, providing weekend breaks for those who can not afford such luxuries.
