Three Liebherr's for Ács-Gép

Hungarian crane rental company Ács-Gép Holding has expanded its fleet with the addition of three Liebherr mobile cranes - an LTM 1200-5.1, an LTM 1300-6.2 and LTM 1500-8.1. The 500 tonne LTM 1500-8.1 is now the largest mobile crane based in Hungary.

Budapest-based Ács-Gép Holding’s main business is running a 200 strng tower crane rental fleet, which is predominantly Liebherr. The family-run company also has a fleet of around 30 mobile cranes. The tower crane operation also provides business for the mobile cranes, erecting or dismantling towers five or six times every week.

The LTM 1500-8.1 is now the largest Liebherr mobile crane in Hungary.

When purchasing its new mobile cranes Ács-Gép therefore needed compact long boom machines, adding an LTM 1200-5.1 with 72 metre main boom and an LTM 1300-6.2 with a 78 metre boom.

managing director László Ács said: "The new Liebherr cranes will enable us to erect and dismantle tower cranes effectively and very quickly at great heights. In addition, the LTM 1300-6.2 features the very latest technology - its single-engine concept and VarioBase are very advanced. The manoeuvrable and compact design of the six-axle crane means that we can use it on the Budapest roads and move around congested building sites.”

In addition to erecting tower cranes, the LTM 1500-8.1 will also take on a range of heavy duty jobs, including the construction of motorway bridges, renovation work in power plants and refineries, applications in wind power and boiler and turbine loading work at the ports on the River Danube.

The new 500 tonne crane will replace an LTM 1400-7.1 however the demand for greater capacity mobile cranes was the deciding factor when purchasing the new crane.

Ács-Gép currently has a workforce of 120 people and operates in Hungary and also in its neighbouring Central and Eastern European countries. It has also formed subsidiaries in Russia and Azerbaijan. Liebherr’s official Budapest-based sales and service partner for more than 30 years is Pointed Kft.
