Crane driver killed in motorway crash

A 50 year old driver of a Kato crane suffered fatal injuries after a collision with a tanker and a car on the M4 motorway near Cardiff, South Wales at 5.45pm yesterday evening. The crane left the road following the collision with the tanker which then also collided with a car and the central reservation.

The driver of the Mercedes tanker was unhurt and has been arrested and the woman driver of the Citroen car was taken to hospital for treatment before being released.

Motorists faced long delays after the M4 was shut for eight hours on the westbound carriageway between junctions 32 and 33 of the motorway.
