Third depot for Star

UK access rental company Star Platforms has opened a new depot in Coalville, Leicestershire.

The new location comes two months after opening its second branch in Wrotham, Kent (see: Second location for Star), and will serve the East Midlands.

Joint managing director Richard Miller said: “Our aim is to combine the latest, most modern powered access machines with excellent customer service and support. Our success with this approach has allowed us to take advantage of the availability of a large and modern depot in a location that is perfectly placed to give our growing number of customers the best possible service. As members of the Access Alliance we are also well placed to deliver platforms throughout the UK.”

Midlands general manager Sam Christian added: “Our national customers will benefit from the additional coverage the Midlands depot offers. With our strong local connections we are also quickly building a regional customer base. We will continue to add brand new, market-leading machines to our fleet.”

Established in 2014 by Steve Simmons, Richard Miller and Bryan Freeman, Star Platforms operates a fleet of scissors, booms and low-level equipment as well as vehicle-mounted platforms. It also recently gained bronze status for the Freight Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).
