Vertikal Comment

This looks like a good move for both parties, it takes Alan Russon back into the big scissor lift sector, having played a major role in the market over many years. As UK dealer for Skyjack in the late 1980s he was responsible for establishing its range of large scissor lifts before the financial crisis of the early 1990s brought an end to the company. He then established the market for large heavy duty scissor lifts by bringing in Liftlux products with his company Russon Access. This came to an end when Liftlux was acquired by JLG, so he moved on to Holland Lift, helping establish that brand in the UK selling half of the company to Holland Lift. T 2007/8 recession caused that business to close as new sales dried up.

More recently he has been operating at the opposite end of the scissor lift market with The Access Platform Company, building the Power Scissor and Quick Step manually powered machines which have had surprising success among general tool and specialist rental companies.

The arrangement that the two parties have formed is a very pragmatic and practical one, building the PB brand and business up in the UK for the long term, while providing Russon with another string to his bow. Looks like a good move for both of them.
