City of London Three Peaks Challenge

UK specialist mastclimber and contract scaffolding company Brogan is helping to organise and take part in the City of London Three Peaks Challenge - abseiling The Gherkin, The Cheesegrater and The Walkie-Talkie buildings all in one day – on Monday 7th September.

The Brogan group will provide the scaffolding platforms to enable the abseils to take place from the top of three of the City’s most iconic buildings.

Brogan - involved in the construction of the Walkie-Talkie’s Sky Gardens building - hopes the event will raise a total of £4 million. 40 individuals/organisations will abseil 584 metres down the three urban mountains.

Three of the company’s design engineers will also be abseiling on the day, together with the other participants in a bid to raise money for The Outward Bound Trust and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

The landmark event follows the success of the Descent of The Shard abseil in 2012, which raised £2.8 million in a day. The 2015 event will be the longest civilian abseil in history - the three buildings have a combined height double that of The Shard. A strict maximum of just 40 people including some of the biggest names in the City, will make the descent of each tower one after the other.

40 individuals/organisations will abseil 1,916ft down the urban mountains which includes 30 St Mary Axe, The Leadenhall Building and 20 Fenchurch Street otherwise known as The Gherkin, The Cheesegrater and The Walkie-Talkie.
