Cumberland obtains type approval

UK based Cumberland Platforms has obtained national small series type approval on its Isuzu mounted Socage A314 in the UK.

The type approval not only covers the addition of the Socage aerial work platform, but also its being up-rated to 3,500kg on off-road tyres. The A314 has a working height of 13.2 metres, an outreach of 6.5 metres and a 225kg platform capacity. Features include 360 degree slew, five degree off-road levelling and 400kg spare payload.

Cumberland managing director Paul Murphy, said: “This is a unit that has proved to be very popular with our customers and I am sure this approval will only help increase interest it. I believe we are the first to receive full approval for an access platform of this type on this model of vehicle. We are currently investing in new models for the coming future.”

The company is also in the process of obtaining a national small series type approval for the Toyota Hilux mounted A314, scheduled for approval by mid-September.
