New Terex cranes for NMT

UK based crane rental company NMT has taken delivery of its fifth new Terex All Terrain crane as it boosts the fleet at its new depot in Birmingham,

Latest deliveries include a 40 tonne two axle AC40-2L, two three axle Challenger 3180s and a five axle Explorer 5800 all of which will be based in Birmingham. These units join the new flagship cane, the 700 tonne AC700 which the company showed at Vertikal Days in May. It is now based at the company’s Bedford depot.

The latest additions take the number of Terex cranes in the NMT fleet to 36 and are a key element in its £8 million fleet investment this year.
The AC700 is configured with a 60 metre main boom with Sideways Super Lift and a 96 metre luffing jib, and offers a maximum system length of 150 metres. Mounted on a nine axle carrier, it is powered by an emissions friendly Eromot 4/Tier 4 engine.

Managing director Mark Ambridge said: “We researched other heavy cranes available in the marketplace, but the over supply at 500 tonners and accordingly lower rental rates made the AC700 a much more viable and financially attractive option.
