Crawler recovered

A crawler crane that overturned into a canal in Northern France last Friday has been recovered with a 750 tonne truck crane.

The crane overturned sideways last Friday into shallow water on a dam project on the river Somme between Hangest-sur-Somme and Bourdon. We do not have details of what caused it, but understand that no was injured in the incident.

The recovery, which took place yesterday, involved a Liebherr LG1750, owned and operated by locally based Dufour crane rental. Rather than cut off or dismantle the jib, the recovery team simply lifted the crane - boom and all – from the water. And as far as we know all went well.
