Another fatal tree trimming incident

An arborist died yesterday in Northampton, Pennsylvania after he was thrown out of a work platform as it overturned.

The man - said to be employed by a franchisee of Ricks Tree Service - was working on a tree from a bucket truck when something caused the lift to lose stability. The man was thrown from the platform, and was then hit by parts of the falling machine.

When the emergency services arrived the man was no longer breathing. They attempted to resuscitate him and he was rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead. OSHA and the local police are investigating the cause.
