Seaside DW

A reader in the UK spotted two van mounted aerial platforms working either side of a road in the early hours of the morning.

Spotted on the seafront in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, two van mounts have parked either side of the road in order to carry out work on an overhead street decoration. Although reportedly working at 5.30am - where there is less chance of encountering traffic - the pair clearly have not given any thought to traffic control, or what might happen should a double-decker bus or high sided truck pass underneath. To make matters worse, the van mount parked on the central reservation looks as though it is encroaching onto the road, adding to the dangers.

In the words of the correspondent: “Spotted at 5:30am, two operatives working over a live road, with no cones, barriers or traffic control. They clearly though they would get the work done before the busses started running.”

When it comes to van mounted aerial platforms this seems to be a very common practice, just pulling up on the side of the road with no traffic management working over traffic or pedestrians. also what's most concerning quite often its the local council.
