UK crane and access company Hird has ordered a 100 tonne Grove GMK4100L All Terrain crane.

The four axle GMK4100L features a 60 metre main boom and can lift up to 1.6 tonnes at a radius of 48 metres. With a chassis length of 10.7 metres, the crane also features all-wheel steering and Manitowoc’s Megatrak suspension. Scheduled for delivery at the end of August, the crane will be based at the company’s headquarters in Hull.

Hird managing director Philip Hird, said: “We have been impressed with other existing Grove cranes in our fleet and are happy with the purchase of the GMK4100L. Its long boom and highly versatile capabilities make it ideal for congested job sites in the UK and the crane will be used at many sites around the country.”
