Terex harbour crane for Italy

Italian stevedoring company Porto di Carrara has taken delivery of a diesel-electric Terex Gottwald Model 7 G HMK 7608 mobile harbour crane.

The eight axle HMK 7608 has a maximum lifting capacity of 150 tonnes and a maxium working radius of 54 metres. Intended to unload granite from India and Brazil and load marble, the crane joins a fleet of 11 Terex Gottwald mobile harbour cranes operating in Carrara.

Porto di Carrara managing director Paolo Dello Iacono, said: “Our port is a leader in importing and exporting stone, steel products and project cargo. The new crane helps us to extend our capacity in these segments. Currently we are linked to 85 ports on five continents. In order to face the challenge of gradually rising handling volumes, we continue to rely on productive and reliable mobile harbour crane technology from TPS.”

Two Terex Gottwald Model 8 mobile harbour cranes at Porto di Carrara
