Telehandler electrocution

Two men suffered severe electric shocks yesterday, when the telehandler they were working with came into contact with high-voltage power lines on an industrial park in Columbus, Ohio.

Three employees of D.L. Industrial were using the telehandler to relocate an air handling unit at the factory of Rightway Fasteners on the estate, when the incident occurred. They were pick & carrying the air unit through the car park - with one driving and two guiding and steadying the load - when the boom came into contact the high voltage power lines.

The two men on the ground received serious electric shocks, while the driver was unhurt and remained in his seat until the power lines had been fully de-energised. The two injured men were airlifted to hospital in critical condition.
