UK generalist expands access

UK general rental company Elvington Plant Hire has added electric scissors and a spider lift to its fleet.

The 40 year old Yorkshire based company runs a fleet of general construction equipment, including mini excavators, dumpers and rollers etc.. For the past two years it has also been supplying the Niftylift 120T trailer lift, and decided to start expanding this part of the business with a wider range of equipment types. After speaking with APS it purchased two 19ft compact Genie GS1932 scissor lifts and a
17 metre Hinowa Lightlift 17.75 spider lift.

Business development director Tim Garland said: “We have a really good working relationship with Mike Weatherill at APS, having purchased material lifts from him in the past. As relative newbies to the access industry, we sought guidance from him on the best powered access machines to buy. Mike really went the extra mile for us, providing advice and support on hiring the machines that helped us to secure our first customer for our new Genie electric scissors.”

“We already had a Hinowa tracked mini-dumper so we knew about the high build quality. Mike took us to the Hinowa factory and we were extremely impressed with the product range as well as the people behind them, so had no hesitation in buying our first machine. Hinowa’s controls are very user-friendly. Our customers appreciate the compact chassis for narrow access, the low ground pressure and the indoor/outdoor flexibility of the bi-energy drive train.”
