300t crawler for Crane Service

US cranes rental company Crane Service, part of ML Holdings Crane group, has taken delivery of a 300 tonne Liebherr LR 1300SX crawler crane.

Destined for its Southwest rental fleet, the LR 1300 offers a maximum tip height of 164 metres, when configured with its 56 metre main boom and 116 metre luffing jib. The crane has been purchased with carbon fibre pendant lines and will be used to carry out a variety of heavy lifts for the wind, oil & gas and construction sectors. The crane fills the gap between its 272 tonne Manitowoc 2250 and 400 tonne Manitowoc 16000 crawler crawlers.

Crane Service president Scott Wilson, said: “This will be our first Liebherr crawler crane which is really exciting. We have heard positive feedback from others who own this crane. We felt that the LR1300SX with carbon fibre pendants - was the right move for our crawler crane fleet. Capacity wise, this crane will help us bridge the gap between our 2250 crawler cranes and our 16000 crawler crane. Which will give us more options when we are planning projects.”
