Industry veteran joins Acme

US based wholesale rental company Acme Lift has appointed Brian Stanley as vice president of business development for the eastern United States.

Stanley joins Acme from the Northville, Michigan-based headquarters of the Jack Doheny Companies, where he been director of specialty equipment and strategic accounts since May 2014. While there he successfully launched the Bronto-Skylift line of truck mounted aerial lifts for the company, and focused most of his efforts on the electrical transmission industry.

Prior to that he spent over 15 years with United Rentals, most recently as national accounts manager of Michigan, Ohio and Northern Indiana. He joined United in 1998 when it acquired Equipment Supply, where he had worked since 1994. He became a branch manager at United and then district sales manager and Midwest region field support manager, before taking on the regional national accounts role in 2008.

He joined Equipment Supply following a year or so with Detroit based crane rental company JJ Curran, having begun his career in the aerial lift industry in 1986 as a telemarketer at S&R Equipment Co and then a salesman with the company.
