Fatal tower crane collapse

A tower crane collapsed onto a car park and apartment block in Kemerovo, central Russia yesterday killing the crane operator, a 53 year old woman. No one else was injured in the incident.

The crane went over and pierced the building before fully collapsiing

The 40 metre bottom slewing luffing jib crane, was apparently caught by strong gusts of wind said to have exceed 18 metres a second – 40mph/65kph. We understand that the crane went over but rested on its jib for a while, before fully collapsing. A local resident caught the final fall on camera.
