Kalmar reachstackers for US forces

Kalmar has received an order for a further 18 RT240 Rough Terrain reachstackers from the US Department of Defense, in an order worth approximately $18 million.

The 24 tonne RT240s are capable of handling 20 and 40 foot ISO containers on a wide variety of ground conditions and can stack containers weighing 24 tonnes three high on the first row and containers weighing 12.5 tonnes three high on the second row. Replacing older equipment, the new reachstackers will be delivered to multiple locations across the USA throughout the year.

Stephen Speakes, chief executive of Kalmar RT Centre in Texas, said, "This is yet another endorsement of the great quality of Kalmar's solutions for rough terrain applications. The RT240 provides a reliable materials handling solution, it is simple to service, maintain and fix in the field."
