Man up a tree

Spotted in Sutton town centre, near Mansfield, UK, a tree worker hanging onto a tree as they prune/remove it.

The man has climbed up as far he dares and then using a chain saw cut chunks off and shimmied down ready for the next cut. He was clearly working for the local authority, and you would have though that its health & safety department would have asked how they were planning the work at height? Especially after all the focus there has been about working at height when trimming trees.

It is hard to believe that this was the safest or even most efficient method of doing this work

In the words of our reader: “Spotted today in Sutton, a man in the tree above the lorry on a thin branch shimming down as he cut it. I would have thought that a van mounted lift would have been more appropriate.”

Definitely one for our Death Wish series.
