A statement from IPAF said: “Peter was a pioneer of the industry in Switzerland. With his solid and well-grounded technical knowledge, he made a significant contribution to the development of work platform safety. Since 2004, as the first IPAF-certified instructor in Switzerland, Peter had trained well over a thousand people in the safe use of work platforms and, with his technical competence and extraordinary personality, had given the participants in his courses a good foundation for safe working at height. In his critical yet objective manner, Peter motivated us and led us to constantly improve the training programme. He contributed directly to the success of the programme in Switzerland and leaves behind a large gap.”

Roger Schaffner, IPAF representative for Switzerland added: “It was an honour to have known Peter. In the past 30 years, where we worked together in different companies, I benefited from his extraordinary technical knowledge and learned a lot from him. He will be missed.”
