Skyjack completes a 30 for 30 Partners

Skyjack has completed the first of its planned 30 charitable support projects, as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.

The first was carried out for the UK’s Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s and included the loan of a Skyjack SJ6832 RTE electric Rough Terrain scissor lift to help carry out vital maintenance work on the lifeboat, and facilities of the RNLI station in Amble, Northumberland.

In addition to the machine loan the company presented the station with a cheque for £2,000, as a contribution towards its appeal to replace its current Mersey class lifeboat with a new, state-of-the-art Shannon class lifeboat in 2017.
This new craft, which has a top speed of 25 knots, is the first to be propelled by water jets instead of traditional propellers, making it the most agile and manoeuvrable all-weather lifeboat yet.

The RNLI is one of England’s oldest charities and operates purely on voluntary public donations. It has been saving lives for nearly two centuries with one clear vision: to end preventable loss of life at sea.

David Hall, product and business development manager for Skyjack Europe said: “This is what 30 FOR 30 PARTNERS is all about — supporting the projects that really matter to the local community,” said. “Maintaining our social responsibility is extremely important to Skyjack and we were delighted to offer our support to such a worthwhile charitable organisation.”
