Ashtead acquires in New York

The Sunbelt operation of Ashtead group has acquired Wilson Rental Center, of Corning, New York, roughly half way between New York City and Rochester, on the Pennsylvanian border.

The company was established in 1987 by company owner Craig Wilson, and offers a range of equipment including booms and scissor lifts as well as trailer lifts and telehandlers. The business covers Corning, an area that covers several counties in New York state as well as Tioga County Pennsylvania.

Wilson said: "After 35 years in the rental industry it was time to sell my company and I am very pleased to have Sunbelt acquire it. I was looking for three things when I sold, which included a company who could take it to the next level, one that would continue to take care of our customers, and also take care of my employees, who helped me build the company. I believe we achieved all three and that Fred found the right buyer".
