HTC ownership change

We have finally been able to confirm that UK tower crane rental company H.T.C Plant Ltd, is in the process of being sold by its owner P.C. Harrington Holdings.

The move, which has been the subject of discussions for several weeks, follows the imminent placing into administration of sister company P.C. Harrington Contractors.

It looks almost certain now that the buyer for the tower crane company will be Wolffkran, for which HTC is the UK dealer. Wolffkran runs rental operations in a number of countries, so owning such a company in the UK would be nothing new.

P.C. Harrington Contractors has been struggling for some time and not been paying suppliers properly for a year or two, Tower crane industry 'talk' claims that HTC Plant had been cross subsidising the contracting business, in a bid to try and keep it afloat. But we have seen no hard evidence of this.

When we tried to obtain confirmation last month that discussion to sell the tower crane business were being held, we failed in the face of several denials. It seems though that the inevitable has now happened, and that barring a last minute surprise or upset, the transactions will be confirmed early next week.

They made enemies everywhere, even their relatives, friends use-to-be, neighbour, former employee and clients have thousands negative comments...

Glad to see them drop inside the black hole.... and say congratulations.

If i remember correctly Wolff Krane have previously been co owners when it was Stuart Wolff. HTC have always had a unique relationship with Wolff but its difficult to see how itll effect there place in the market unless there hire rates can be reduced.
