New president for IPAF

At the IPAF AGM this morning outgoing president Steve Couling handed over to Andy Studdert of NES, having completed his two year term. Nick Selley of AFI moves up to deputy president, while Brad Boehler of Skyjack becomes vice president. All elections were unopposed.

Couling said in his review of 2014 that much had been achieved in the past two years towards his desire for the organisation to focus on its original aims and intentions and that he hoped this would continue.

Studdert said that he wanted to see the organisation to continue to move forward and update some of its training and technical advice/procedures to include the full adoption of e-learning programmes and the update of machine pre-use checks, which still include items that no longer make sense such as checking battery levels on a daily basis.

Other items covered at the meeting included the approval of the accounts for 2014, showing a 9.4 percent increase in revenues and net profits/surplus - no questions were raised and no other business.

Couling announced that he had chosen Teresa Kee of US based NES Rentals to receive the IPAF Presidents Award for 2014.

The Summit has now started and will run through the rest of the day, with the awards dinner this evening.
