New records set at PartnerLift

PartnerLift, the German association of independent rental companies, held its 11th annual conference in Würzburg, last weekend, with over 100 members attending – a new record.

PartnerLift has traditionally been made up of small to midsize access rental companies, but over the past few months, there has been strong growth with new companies in the crane and forktruck sectors. The combined fleet of all members now totals 15,000 units - mostly booms, scissors and truck mounted lifts - operating from a network if of 145 depots. Another new record is the combined revenues of members which is said to top €200 million.

Some of the growth and increased product mix, comes from new members, such as Ziegler Gabelstapler from Gersthofen near Augsburg, or Dutch crane rental company Kuiphuis, which also has a rental depot in Germany.

Managing director Kai Schliephake noted the growth of general construction in the fleet, which has prompted the formation of a new equipment division, which includes: HBH Baumaschinen from Lauda – Königshofen and new members such as Spille from Essen, Gossner Arbeitsbühnen from Freystadt, Induma Rent from Stuttgart and SGL from Giesen near Hildesheim.

Schliephake said: “The network is getting more dense and the PartnerLift association is putting its members into a position to be able to serve construction sites with all kinds of equipment from earthmoving equipment to work platforms, cranes and forklifts all over Europe.”

A ‘regulars’ table for crane rental companies was added this year, with there now being over 300 cranes with the group. Presentations covered financing, risk management and insurance, while delegates received some training delivered by an experienced communication and negotiation trainer who sought to improve sales skills among the group.
