Repeat order for J&D Pierce

Scottish structural steelwork and steel erection contractor J&D Pierce has taken delivery of its second Grove GMK4100L and Grove GMK3055 All Terrain cranes, having purchased the same models in 2013.

The four-axle 100 tonne GMK4100L features a 60 metre main boom and offers a under hook height of 82 metres with its swingaway extension. The three-axle 55 tonne Grove GMK3055 features a 43 metre main boom plus a 15 metre swingaway extension. All four Grove cranes are currently working on the £220 million development of a college in Glasgow, where they will install more than 6,000 tonnes of steel and 20,000 tonnes of precast concrete.

J&D managing director Derek Pierce, said: “These four new Grove cranes have helped us deliver some of the biggest steel structure projects in Scotland. They work hard and are very reliable. As our business grows in this market, we are sure to expand our fleet, and I am confident that Grove cranes will be part of our expansion for many years to come.”
