Amazing escape

A man was unhurt last week after the platform of his aerial lift touched an overhead power line and caught fire in Hackensack, New Jersey.

The rescue underway

The man was carrying out a test procedure on a 19 metre Elliot V60 telescopic truck mounted lift out in front of the premises of Boland Rentals, when he strayed too close to the wires. The emergency services and local utility PSEG came to his rescue and using a fully insulated boom and a rescue platform managed to bring him down – he was miraculously unhurt, although badly shaken.

Vertikal Comment

It is a little difficult to understand how anyone would take an aerial lift up in front of your own premises when you know there are overhead power lines present?

Thankfully no one was hurt this time round, it could have been a very different story.
