CMC ships first S19N units to UK

27. February 2015 | Comments (0)

Italian aerial lift manufacturer CMC has shipped the first three production units of its new 18.8 metre CMC S19N spider lift to UK rental company Lifterz, with a fourth unit delivered to Sheffield based Wilson Laidler. All units were supplied through UK distributor Ranger Equipment.

The new S19N (Narrow) shares the same structural configuration, control system and componentry as the 14.9 metre S15, however it offers more working height, outreach and platform capacity. It will sit alongside the existing S19 model – now renamed the S19HD – which only has working height and control system in common.

Featuring a twin arm sigma riser, a two section telescopic boom and an articulating jib, the S19N offers a working height of 18.8 metres, an outreach of 8.8 metres and a maximum platform capacity of 230kg – 150kg at maximum outreach with an up and over height of 8.5 metres.

Overall stowed dimensions are 4.48 metres long with the basket removed, 1.97 metres high and 780mm wide, allowing it to pass through regular single doorways – unlike the original S19HD which has an overall width of 930mm. The extended outrigger footprint is 2.8 metres wide by 3.58 metres long and it weighs 2,500kg.

Power options include a Kubota Z482 diesel or Honda petrol engine with AC motor or a Lithium-ion pack. The company has also said that a hybrid diesel/electric system should be available shortly.

Ranger Equipment director Steve Hadfield, said: “Many customers who already run the S15 have ordered the new S19N, stating that the S15 is a very simple and hire friendly machine that works well and is accepted by customers and users alike. With the S19N being based on the proven S15 model they look forward to more of the same, but on a larger machine.”

“Compared with the S19HD – which is more of an outdoor machine ideal for outdoor work and excellent for levelling on rough and sloping ground with big outreach – the S19N is a great all rounder and has been developed predominantly with hire companies in mind, it is very hire friendly.”
