Dutch access heads north for charity

Teams from three Dutch access companies set out today to drive 7,000 kilometres in seven days, through six countries from Hazerswoude-Dorp in the Netherlands to the North Cape in Norway and back again in order to raise money for charity.

In total there are 20 teams looking to complete the trip, with the three aerial lift teams sponsored and supported by other companies in the local access industry.

The teams are:

Team 19: Aan de Bac from access rental company Bac Verhuur of Waddinxveen, with Dick and Arnold Bac driving a Chevrolet 2500 pick up truck.

They are sponsored and supported by Cluistra Verhuur, HDW Nederland, HWS Verhuur, Hocap, Pol Hoogwerkers, Riwal, TüV Nederland, Verticaaldagen Benelux and X-tra Materiaal.

The teams are expected to be back home by Saturday 31st January. As we post this item, most companies are in the Hanover area heading north. Conditions will deteriorate rapidly as they hit northern Norway and the artic circle but for now the conditions look fair.

Part of the entrance fees and sponsorship raised from this year’s event will go the Tess Foundation which raises money to enable children with disabilities from four to 18 years to benefit from treatment at the Curacao Dolphin Therapy & Research Centre. It will also go towards the children’s charity Kinderboerderij Dierendal.
