SAS looks at options

UK access rental company Safe Access Solutions (SAS) is in discussions to restructure the business, having struggled financially for some time, and following an unsatisfied County Court Judgement against it at the end of December.

We also understand that discussions have been ongoing regarding a possible sale to another rental company or investor, but that it may now be too late to save the business as a going concern. At this stage it is likely that any suitor will look to acquire the assets only.

While talk within the industry suggests that some form of insolvency practitioner has been appointed, we have managed to confirm that no official appointment has yet been made, although it is likely that a major accounting company in the Manchester area will be appointed by the weekend.

SAS was formed in 2012 by John Corrie who stepped down as a director last year to deal with personal financial issues. At the start of this year, business development director Peter Whittall departed, shortly after a County Court Judgement for £18,160 was issued - see: Whittall leaves SAS .

Repeated attempts to reach senior managers has so far failed. We will update this article as soon as we do manage to speak to anyone.

Note that given the legal and financial sensitivities we have disabled the comment section until later in the week.
