Vertikal.net issues

Many of you noticed that vertikal.net was down for an hour or so earlier today, due to exceptionally high traffic along with an issue with the banner rotation system, following some failed spam attacks over the weekend.

The banner rotation system was temporally disabled while the team worked on the issue and is now fully back on line. The site is due for a server upgrade in a year or so, when we look set to outgrow the current server and software set up. In the meantime we have approved a small software update that will help prevent the situation repeating itself.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, which to some extent is a result of the website’s success. Its sheer size also attracts some unwanted attention, which is why it is so important that we maintain our protection systems etc…
