New CEO for Mtandt

Mtandt, one of India’s leading access sales and rental specialists, has appointed Pradeep Agarwal as group chief executive.

Agarwal, who was previously chief financial officer, replaces Rakesh Modi who has moved to the group’s supervisory board as managing director. A chartered accountant by training, Agarwal previously worked with Ernst and Young and before that head of finance and operations with Harris Corporation. He was instrumental in establishing the women fashion retail brand “W” in India and overseas. He also worked with egurucool.com and ONICRA credit rating agency of India.

Modi said: “We welcome Agarwal’s rich experience and leadership to the group. In his new role as chief executive, he will be responsible for delivering against our updated 2014 revenue plan, improving gross margins, and enhancing the company’s profitable growth. His results-oriented approach and ability to think strategically will play a pivotal role in extending our track record of innovation, while helping us grow profitability.”

Agarwal added: "Mtandt group is pioneer in the safety industry. Today the most influential companies in India are using aerial work equipment and safety systems supplied by the group to reach and work at height safely. I am excited to be part of the executive board and ready to take the new challenges as chief executive. We will be focusing on building Mtandt as a great brand while ensuring highest levels of customer satisfaction. Also we will be fully exploiting the opportunities in online retail and franchise stores across the country.”

Mtandt was founded in 1974 by Rajkumar Modi as an access rental company to provide safe and cost effective work at height equipment for the industrial and infrastructure markets. The company operates from seven locations across India, supported by 28 local dealers. In addition to running a fleet of over 1,000 platforms, the company has a sales division which works with Dingli, Co.Me.t, Versalift, Ommelift and PM group.
