Telecom man shocked

A man is in hospital today in Pennsylvania after he came in to contact with an overhead power line last night.

The man was installing a high speed data line from a the platform of a ‘bucket truck’ near Tuscarora Township in Bradford County, Pennsylvania when his head touched a live power line.

His colleagues managed to bring him down and were skilled enough in CPR and first aid to restart his heart several times while they waited for an ambulance. We do not have any further information at this time.

Vertikal Comment

While this should never have happened in the first place, what is a good is that he colleagues were able to safely bring the platform down from the ground controls and clearly had some good first aid training. Cases like this show how important both of these are.

Hopefully the stricken man will make a full recovery.
